Advantages of Impact Crusher

Impact crushers are mainly used to process materials of medium and low hardness, relatively brittle and low abrasiveness, such as limestone, bluestone and some construction waste. The finished particle shape of impact crushers relies on high-speed impact, multiple collisions and random fracture.

1. High-speed impact crushing helps improve particle shape

After materials enter the crushing chamber, they are strongly impacted by blow bars driven by the high-speed rotating rotor, then thrown onto the impact plates at high speed and struck again.

2. Multiple collisions realize both crushing and shaping

After being hit by blow bars, materials are thrown toward impact plates and continuously go through the cycle of "impact - rebound - re-impact" inside the crushing chamber.

The crushing principle of impact crushers differs from jaw crushers and cone crushers.

The particle shape produced by impact crushers is not only determined by the crushing principle, but also related to crushing chamber structure, impact plate design, feed size, discharge gap and equipment operating parameters.

Materials undergo repeated impacts in the crushing chamber, which not only achieves crushing, but also further shapes some irregular particles. However, the particle shape advantage of impact crushers is premised on suitable raw materials, proper feed size and matched equipment parameters. For medium-low hardness brittle materials like limestone and bluestone, impact crushers can balance crushing efficiency and finished aggregate shape. Therefore, they are widely adopted in scenarios with high requirements on aggregate particle form.
